Valigeria Polli dal 1928
via Don Minzoni 20
17021 Alassio (SV)
Our story was born with the entrepreneurial initiative of Pietro Polli, originally from Omegna (VB), a city famous for the presence of many Italian umbrella artisans.
Pietro for family reasons moved to Liguria at the turn of the 1920s.
As a shop boy in Ventimiglia (IM), he learns the ancient art of making and repairing umbrellas.
In 1928 Pietro moved with his family to Alassio (SV) where he opened a small and modest shop for umbrellas, travel items and the like in Via Robutti.
Despite the difficulties of the economic situation of the time and of the pre-war and wartime ones, Pietro's modest commercial activity resists! At the end of World War II it finds a new location in Via Mazzini, near the railway station, the heart of the activities of the small town. His wife Rina and the children born of their union, Severino (known as Gianni) and Paolo support and support Pietro in the family business.
Suddenly in 1962 Pietro passed away and his sons took over and introduced new prestigious brands and novelties for the time such as Samsonite, Delsey and Borsalino.
In the 1970s, the two sons split the business, each of them founding their own shop.
Severino continues the sale at the headquarters in Via Mazzini assisted by his wife Giulia and since the 1980s by his children Marina, Piero and later Franco.
Starting in the 90s, Severino retired from the business entrusting it to his children who continued it with a new entrepreneurial spirit by introducing new references and brands such as Roncato, Eastpak, American Tourister and Avirex.
The current headquarters, completely renovated, has been located since March 2008 in Via Don Minzoni at number 20, a stone's throw from the "Budello" of Alassio, a real modern pulsating artery of the Alassian trade, and is led by Franco who expands its offer. introducing new brands and products.
